Our Objectives

The objectives of the society shall be:

  1. To spread knowledge of the principles and advantages of vegetarianism and the ideal of a healthy, humane and environmentally sound mode of life.
  2. To encourage friendship and co-operation between vegetarians and to cooperate with other organisations concerned with sound nutrition, positive approaches to physical and mental health and the preservation and improvement of the environment.
  3. To assist those who have recently become vegetarians or who are considering doing so.
  4. To support and promote the supply of vegetarian food and other animal free products.
  5. To raise, hold and manage funds for the above objects.
  6. To do all other lawful things that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of any or all of the above objects.

 

 

Definitions

VEGETARIANISM:
The practice of living on product of the vegetable kingdom, with or without the use of eggs and dairy product, but excluding entirely the consumption of any part of the body of an animal as food (including chicken and fish). The term "Vegetarian" means a person who follows such practice, or describes such a person, creature, establishment or food pertaining to vegetarianism.

VEGANISM:
A way of living on the product of the plant kingdom to the exclusion of all product from the animal kingdom. A vegan is a total vegetarian who consumes no animal by-product.
